Powerhouse Dessert Companies The Good Batch and Blue Marble Unite for a Sweet Summer

The purveyors behind Brooklyn’s favorite ice cream sandwiches and scoops join forces at food markets and concert venues across New York City

BROOKLYN, NY, June 14, 2016 — The Good Batch and Blue Marble Ice Cream have teamed up this summer to offer fans the opportunity to enjoy their premium frozen desserts all across the city – including Governor’s Island, Central Park’s SummerStage, Prospect Park’s Celebrate Brooklyn! and the Brooklyn Flea.

On Governor’s Island, the companies will share two locations – one in the popular Liggett Terrace Food Court, the other at the entrance of the Island’s newest attraction, The Hills, scheduled to open to the public in July. Visitors can enjoy frozen desserts every Saturday and Sunday through September. Their combined menu will also be available at Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene and Dumbo, and every Rumsey Park concert in Central Park this season, where Blue Marble has been vending since 2010. The Good Batch recently kicked off it’s fourth season operating the snack bar at the Prospect Park Bandshell, where cups of Blue Marble ice cream will now join their menu of ice cream sandwiches, fresh baked goods and a variety of locally sourced concert snacks. Each company will continue to run their longstanding booths at Smorgasburg.

At each location, customers will be able to choose from a rotating selection of four ice cream scoop flavors, including Sea Salt Caramel and Blueberry, and three ice cream sandwiches, including the Goodwich and Brownie Caramel Crunch.

“We have been using Blue Marble ice cream for our sandwiches for years,, so joining forces behind one counter this season seemed like a no-brainer”, said Gordon. “Managing multiple outdoor booths around the city takes an incredible amount of logistics, supplies and labor. This allows us to pool our resources and make bigger moves.”

Outside of this venture, the two businesses will continue to operate independently.

About The Good Batch

Founded in 2010 by pastry chef Anna Gordon, The Good Batch is a modern American sweets company specializing in hearty baked goods, cookies and ice cream sandwiches. In addition, the Good Batch’s signature salty sweet baked goods are distributed for wholesale to over 100 retailers around New York City including Dig Inn, Union Market, Ninth Street Espresso, and Grumpy Espresso. In 2014 the company opened their flagship bakery and production kitchen in Clinton Hill.
